Help & Troubleshooting
Everything you need to get AutoSlider installed and running.
Most installation issues are caused by corporate security policies or missing permissions. Here are the most common solutions.
"I can't install — I don't have admin rights"
Many corporate laptops restrict software installation. You'll need your IT team to install it for you. Use the email template below to send them a request.
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen)
This is a standard Windows warning for new software. Click "More info" at the bottom of the dialog, then click "Run anyway". AutoSlider is safe to install.
"Right-click → Run as Administrator"
If the installer doesn't start or shows a permissions error, right-click the .msi file and select "Run as administrator". This grants the installer the permissions it needs.
".NET Framework 4.8 required"
AutoSlider needs .NET Framework 4.8. If you're on Windows 10 version 1903 or later, it's already installed. If you see this error, check Windows Update for the latest updates.
"AutoSlider tab doesn't appear in PowerPoint"
Close and reopen PowerPoint after installation. If the tab still doesn't appear, go to File → Options → Add-ins → COM Add-ins → Go, and make sure AutoSlider is checked.
"The installer was blocked by my antivirus"
Some antivirus programs flag new MSI installers. Temporarily disable real-time scanning, install AutoSlider, then re-enable it. Or add an exception for the AutoSlider installer.
Copy this email and send it to your IT department. It includes everything they need to install AutoSlider on your machine.
Subject: Software Install Request — AutoSlider for PowerPoint
Hi, I've downloaded a PowerPoint add-in called AutoSlider that helps with slide formatting and alignment. I use it to speed up my presentation work. I wasn't able to install it on my machine due to user access restrictions. Could you help me get it installed or whitelist it? Here's the website: https://www.autoslider.ai The installer is a standard .msi file. Happy to send over the installer file if that's easier. Thank you
